You will enjoy a full day of hiking, camping, and sightseeing. You will be guided by experienced and knowledgeable local guides, who will provide you with an unforgettable and safe experience. This trip promises to be an unforgettable journey that you will never forget!
That is how it is planned, read the itinerary carefully to get an idea:
7 pm, after work, meet in front of Baron Palace, Misr El Gedida. Get to know the group members and break the ice.
-Take a private bus to Saint Catherine. One rest on the way.
-Arriving late, meet the group leader at the base camp, rest for an hour, check your packing and start your hike.
-Am arrive at Wadi El Shaq El Kebeir and rest, enjoy bedouin tea and prepare for breakfast, set the camp, and relax. After 3 hours, the group will split into two:
1- First group will stay and enjoy camping in the gardens, walking around, taking pictures, hiking back and forth, or just sleeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
2- 2nd group will continue hiking attempting to reach El Gelt El Azraq and dip in South Sinai’s largest natural cold water pool. This part of the hike is tough not because the terrain is hard, it might get a bit challenging in some parts and steep in others, but because the distance walked is just a bit long and usually requires more time than planned for this trip to reach El Gelt El Azraq .. So if you don’t feel like pushing hard on yourself, then you could join the first group, setting your base camp at a more convenient camping spot and you could still hike the surroundings. OR if you feel like challenging yourself, like we always do on most of our trips, then come along and try to swim in the cold water natural pool.
3- mmmmm .. we did not say there was a third option, well, if you think you can take Sunday off work/school/university or you are on vacation anyways we could still take you on a rather comfortable 3-day hiking trip reaching El Gelt El Azraq isA. To do so, please send an email to the trip leader at [email protected]
-Both first and second groups meet in Wadi El Shaq and head back together to the bus in Saint Catherine city.
-3pm drive back to the meeting point.
• 1 Night camping in Wadi El Shaq or El Gelt El Azraq, in shared tents and/or sleeping bags outside. Feel free to bring your own tent if you wish, but because sharing is caring come join the group and sleep in tents for Two nights for those choosing the 3rd option. Make sure to bring your own sleeping bag though (sharing is not caring when it comes to sleeping bags, hehe )
• Private transportation Cairo/Saint Catherine/Cairo in an air-conditioned tourist bus.
• 1 Dinner & two breakfast meals.
• Taxes and service charges.
• Sleeping bags.
– Please send a photocopy of your National ID/Passport to [email protected] no later than Tuesday the 18th of Sep.
– 8% off for all CISV International, AFS Local Office, UWC National Committee, and AIESEC Egypt members.

-2nd option is at the Intermediate to Advanced level.
-From 8 to 67 for 1st and 3rd options.
-18 to 45 for the 2nd option.
Hiking is some sort of meditation during which you retreat upon yourself while performing a constant and simple, yet challenging exercise. Gaining more and more positive energy and hence becoming more productive with your thinking. Beware, hiking is addictive 😉
-If you are not interested to abide by the group as in you want to go at your own pace is it faster or slower or just interested in exploring around and just following your feelings wondering around the mountain, please let us know at the time of booking to prepare your hiking requirements accordingly.
The itinerary is subject to be amended according to weather expectations and government procedures.
Hiking in Sinai Mountains
Bedouin guides have compiled a list of the best hiking and trekking routes in Sinai throughout the years. Our guides have spent the better part of two decades learning the ins and outs of these mountains and planning walks for every skill level.
