Hamta Trail – Wadi El Gemal Hike, is a series of hiking trails in the mountains of the Redsea and Marsa Alam region. The hiking trip is one day hike from Marsa Allam and follows the trails of Talhk quarries in Wadi El Gemal Protected Area “The Valley of Camels”. The hiking trip is an off the beaten track hike in the mountains of the Red Sea and combines sightseeing, desert safari, and hike. The hiking trail is around 12 km and leads us into a Talhk quarry that was left open since the 1980s. This hiking trail carries the name “Hamata Hike” and it is a part of a 7 days hike of Wadi el Gemal, each hike could be booked separately or in any combination.
- This hiking trip starts from Marsa Alam then followed with a ride around 120 km from the entrance of the National park until we reach Gebel el Atshan (the thirsty mountain).
- We will be passing by the foot of the Hamata mountain the biggest and highest barrier in the region.
- A combination of a 35 km 4×4 ride with a combination of hike including 12 km
- the exit will be reached after around 120 km
