Takeoff & Landing
In paragliding safety is our primary concern. Therefore, we conduct ongoing training and research to select the launching and landing zones. The Pyramids zone provides an excellent and safe place for taking off and landing due to the vast space of desert land covered with sand. The paragliding area doesn’t have dangerous obstacles or heights such as mountains or rocks.
As well, the area is isolated from urban buildings and roads. Before flying we make sure the area is prepared and we organize with the aviation authority and the pyramids tourism authority.
Paragliding in Cairo is one of the most secure adventures and follows the top safety measurements when you are considering a pyramids day tour.
Why Pragaliding in Egypt?
Fly Over the Pyramids of Giza: A New Perspective on Ancient Egypt
Seeing the Pyramids of Giza from the ground is memorable. Taking to the air offers another perspective: the monuments become part of a wider landscape, revealing their scale against the surrounding desert. A tandem paramotor flight gives you the opportunity to appreciate this ancient setting beyond the familiar photographs.
As your pilot guides the flight, take in the shapes of the pyramids, the open sands, and the contrast between the historic site and its surroundings. The changing viewpoint is part of the experience—offering a different sense of distance and scale from a visit on foot.
Although commonly called paragliding over the pyramids, this is a motorized tandem flight, also known as paramotoring. You take off from the ground with a qualified pilot who controls the aircraft throughout the experience. There is no jump from a plane, and you do not need previous flying experience.
Your time in the air lasts approximately 8–11 minutes, depending on wind and weather conditions. The flight route and views vary with operating conditions, so a particular route or position directly above an individual pyramid is not guaranteed.
For travelers looking to add an aerial adventure to their Cairo visit, this experience offers a distinctive way to see the Pyramids of Giza and create a lasting memory of Egypt.
