Description
Abu Simbel is one of the most impressive temple complexes in Upper Egypt. Located near Lake Nasser, the temples were carved directly into the mountainside and later relocated stone by stone in one of the world’s greatest archaeological rescue missions.
During this day trip from Aswan, you will visit the Great Temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Queen Nefertari. Your Egyptologist will guide you through the temple halls, explaining the carvings, symbolism, historical events, and architectural brilliance behind this UNESCO-protected site.
Minimum booking requirement: 3 guests.
Why Visit Abu Simbel Temples?
Upper Egypt Experience
If you have traveled all the way to Egypt and are exploring Upper Egypt through Luxor and Aswan, visiting Abu Simbel is something you should truly consider. When you are already immersed in the history of the Nile Valley, standing inside temples, walking through ancient corridors, and tracing the stories of kings and queens, extending your journey south to Abu Simbel feels like the natural and rewarding next step. It is not just another stop , it is one of the most powerful temple experiences in the country.
As you move through Upper Egypt, you may explore the temples north of Luxor such as Dendara and Abydos, then continue between Luxor and Aswan where the monuments unfold along the river in sequence Esna, Edfu, and Kom Ombo before reaching Aswan itself. South of Aswan lies Abu Simbel, dramatically positioned near Lake Nasser. While each of these sites carries historical weight and beauty, Abu Simbel stands apart in scale, setting, and presence.
If you are already here, already experiencing Luxor and Aswan, completing your Upper Egypt journey with Abu Simbel transforms your trip from memorable to truly complete.

Trip Safety Measurements
We operate this trip using tourism-licensed vehicles and experienced professional drivers familiar with Upper Egypt routes and regulations. All road permits and security procedures are coordinated in advance.
Climate Conditions (What to Wear / Bring)
Abu Simbel is located in southern Upper Egypt and can be warmer than Aswan. Winter (Nov–Feb) is cool early morning and warm midday, so a light jacket is recommended. Spring and Autumn are warm to hot, so light breathable clothing is ideal. Summer (May–Sep) is very hot and dry, so a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are essential.
We recommend comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, light clothing, and a small backpack.
Egyptologist Experience
Your guide is a licensed Egyptologist with formal academic training in ancient Egyptian history and archaeology. The explanation covers temple symbolism, historical context, and the relocation project while allowing time for personal exploration and photography.
High-Quality Transportation
Depending on group size, we use Toyota Hiace (small groups) and Toyota Coaster (larger groups). All vehicles are modern, air-conditioned, and maintained to tourism standards.
