August Travel & Heat Notice for: Luxor Solar Eclipse 2027 Tour
Heat. This is early August in Upper Egypt and on the Red Sea. Daytime temperatures in Luxor regularly pass 42 degrees Celsius, and Hurghada is cooler but humid. This is the single most important thing to understand about this trip.
The program is built around it: sightseeing in Luxor happens at first light, the middle of the day is spent indoors, and Cairo touring is scheduled to keep the longest walks out of peak heat. Even so, the eclipse itself falls at midday and you will be outdoors at the viewing site for roughly two and a half hours.
Travelers with heart conditions, respiratory conditions, or difficulty with heat should give this higher attention and speak to their doctor before booking.
Bring a hat, high factor sunscreen, light colored and long sleeved clothing and drink far more water than feels necessary.
Eclipse viewing is weather dependent.
Luxor in August has one of the best clear sky records anywhere on the eclipse path, but no operator can guarantee cloud free skies. The package price covers the arrangements, transport, site and services, not the weather.
Site capacity.
Places at the viewing site are limited and are allocated in booking order.
Do not look at the sun without certified filters at any point during the partial phases. Glasses are provided.
Itinerary changes.
The itinerary for Luxor Solar Eclipse 2027 Tour is subject to be amended according to government procedures, weather conditions and tour operator guidelines.
Passport and visa.
Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date. Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival or an e-visa. Check the requirements for your own passport before travel.
