Description
Rappelling trip is a new adventure in Egypt that brings rappelling sport to the mountains of Sinai. Hike to the top of Jebel El Makhroum at the national park of St. Catherine and enjoy rappelling off the mountain cliffs. A unique mountain sport for the first time in Egypt. The trip also includes a visit to Nuweiba and enjoying the south Sinai beaches.
Trip ItineraryÂ
Day 1
Meet at 8 am
8:30 am head towards Jebel El Makhroum, midway between Nuweiba & St. Catherine city with one stop in Ras Sudr on the way for bathroom and coffee.
4 pm get off the bus and into the mountain/desert.
7 pm reach the campsite and rest for the night. Dinner will be served cooked by Beduins. Chicken, soup, and rice.
10 pm Tea with habbak around the campfire.
Sleep the night in a Beduin tent.
Day 2
7 am wake up and warm up.
8 am breakfast will be served.
8:30 am Tea with Shabak.
9 am towards Makhroum mountain cliff.
Climb up and Rappel downwards.
The rappelling might take place over two stages, cause the mountain is high. If time allows you might get to Rappel down more than once. Depends on weather conditions, ropes tension, and group response.
Snack tuna for a light lunch.
5 pm hike back to the bus and head to Nuweiba for a night and day by the beach.
You could bring your Hammock if you have one.
Have dinner by the beach, watch the skies, and share pictures.
Sleep the night under the clear skies.
Day 3
Breakfast by the beach.
Swim swim swim.
No fruit Ninja competition this time.
Swim more.
Now use ropes differently, some rope pulling competitions and sandbag freaks show.
End of our Services
-You could also come and relax by camping in the desert and by the beach and skip the rappelling part.
In Nuweiba, we are staying at Sababa beach camp in Tarabein. You could also choose to stay at Castle Beach in Ras Shitan for an extra charge.
What does the price include?
-Transportation from Cairo & back in modern air-conditioned buses.

-2 dinners & 2 breakfast & light lunch at Makhroum mountain.
-All rappelling equipment and instructions.
What shall I bring along?
- Swimsuit.
- Sports bags.
- Sleeping bag if you wish, the weather is expected to be great tents provided but still sleeping bags give an ambiance for camping trips, bring your own if you wish.
- Your favorite snacks.
General Remarks
– Private availability: available for private groups and individuals.
Cancellation policy
– No cancellation fees will be collected, if cancelation is more than one week before the trip.Â
– 40% will be deducted for cancellations less than one week before the trip date.Â
– 100% will be deducted for cancellation less than 24 hours before the trip date.
